5 Most Expensive Overs In WPL History
In the high-octane environment of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), records are made and shattered. While some records speak of determination, consistency and efforts, others are not something to be proud of.
On that note, let us have a look at the bowlers who have conceded the most runs in a single over.
Most Expensive Overs in WPL History
Here are the five bowlers who have conceded the most runs in a single over in WPL history:
Sneh Rana (Delhi Capitals) — 32 Runs
During a 2026 clash against Gujarat Giants, Rana was taken to the cleaners by Sophie Devine. The New Zealand player smashed two boundaries followed by four consecutive sixes to reach her fifty in just 25 balls.
Deandra Dottin (UP Warriorz) — 32 Runs
Just one day after Rana’s record, Dottin equaled it in the 2026 season against RCB. Facing an inspired Grace Harris, Dottin struggled with discipline, conceding a no-ball and a wide while Harris capitalized on every delivery to collect 32 runs in a whirlwind powerplay assault.
Deepti Sharma (UP Warriorz) — 28 Runs
Held the record until 2026. In the 2025 season, Deepti was taken to the cleaners by none other than Sneh Rana, who struck three sixes and two fours in an over that also included a costly no-ball.
Tanuja Kanwer (Gujarat Giants) — 25 Runs
During the inaugural 2023 season, Kanwer fell victim to Sophie Devine’s brute force at the Brabourne Stadium. Devine’s aggressive intent during the powerplay helped RCB post one of the fastest team hundreds in the tournament’s history.
Sophie Devine (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) — 24 Runs
A rare instance of the “hitter becoming the hitter.” In 2024, Delhi Capitals’ Jemimah Rodrigues turned the tables on the Kiwi all-rounder extracting 24 runs from a single over, proving that even the best can have a bad day.
