Abozar Mighani: The Defender Par Excellence In Kabaddi

Abozar Mighani, the renowned Iranian Kabaddi defender, has announced his retirement from the sport. His retirement marks the end of an era in Kabaddi. Mighani has been a prominent player in both Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) and international competitions.

Known for his phenomenal defensive skills, Mighani has been the backbone of the teams he represented. With his strategic gameplay, he had led his side to crucial victories. He played a key role in delivering Iran a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. 

The 35-year-old has created a niche for himself in the world of Kabaddi. 

Abozar Mighani’s Kabaddi Career

Mighani was a wrestler before switching to kabaddi as a full-time professional player. Owing to his exceptional performances for the national team, he was acquired by the Gujarat Fortunegiants for Season 5 of the Pro Kabaddi League. He has also represented Bengal Warriors and Telugu Titans in PKL

Defensive Offense 

Abozar proved his mettle as a  multifaceted defender playing as Right Cover and Right Corner defender. He’s nicknamed the ‘Smiling Assassin’ for his ability to pin down skillful opposition raiders with relative ease.

Celebrated as one of the best Iranian Kabaddi players and has represented his country in international competitions, including the Asian Games and World Kabaddi Championships. His quick reflexes, strong physical presence, and sharp game intelligence make him a key player in defense.
