BCCI To Give Whopping Prize Money To Team India For ICC Champions Trophy Win

India etched their name in history by winning the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai. They clinched a thrilling four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the final, held on March 9 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

This was India’s third title of the tournament and overall seventh ICC trophy. It was also the second back-to-back ICC title for Team India after winning the T20 World Cup in 2024.

“Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special and this reward recognises Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage,” said BCCI president Roger Binny in a release.

In order to honour the winning team, the BCCI has announced a massive cash reward for the Men In Blue. The winning team will get $6.72 million (Rs 58 crore) from the Indian cricket board.

Interestingly, this amount is three times the prize money for winners of the 50-overs tournament.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is delighted to announce a cash reward of INR 58 Crore for Team India following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This financial recognition honours the players, coaching and support staff and members of the Men’s Selection Committee,” the board said in a statement.

The financial reward will cover the players, coaching and support staff and members of the men’s selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar.

From the Rs 58 crore cash reward announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the 2025 Champions Trophy winning team, Rs 3 crore each will go to the 15 players and head coach Gautam Gambhir, said BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia to reporters.

The prize money  also extends to  players Arshdeep Singh, Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar, who didn’t get to play a single game in the 2025 Champions Trophy.

Reward for coaching staff

Saikia added that the rest of the coaching group — batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, fielding coach T Dilip, as well as support staff members like physiotherapists Kamlesh Jain and Yogesh Parmar, team doctor Aditya Daftary, throwdown specialists Raghavindraa Dvgi, Nuwan Udeneke and Dayanand Garani, masseurs Chetan Kumar, Rajeev Kumar and Arun Kanade, and strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai will get Rs 50 lakhs each.

Saikia also said the rest of the BCCI officials attached to the Indian team during the tournament – like video analyst Hari Prasad Mohan, liaison officer and media managers – will be rewarded too.

“The rest of the BCCI officials like the media manager and liaison officer will get Rs 25 lakhs each,” he added.

The BCCI secretary also informed that chief selector Ajit Agarkar will get Rs 30 lakhs, while the rest of the committee members – Subroto Banerjee, Ajay Ratra, S Sharath and Shiv Sunder Das – will receive Rs 25 lakhs each.
