National Junior Kabaddi Championship In India: All You Need To Know

The National Junior Kabaddi Championship returns to Vidarbha after a very long hiatus of 30 days. The event will take place in Wardha district where the championship is taking place for the first time. This marks the region’s first national-level kabaddi event since 1995.
The Kabaddi Association Vidarbha Sangh (KAVS), with support from the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), is organising the four-day event. About 750 players and 350 officials from across India are expected to take part in the event.
When is the championship taking place?
The National Junior Kabaddi Championship will take place from May 9 to 12.

Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Jharkhand and more will join the event.
What is the venue of the championship?
Matches of the National Junior Kabaddi Championship 2025 will take place at Vidarbha Kesari Ramdasji Tadas Indoor Stadium in Deoli. The finals and closing ceremony will be at the Bhagat Singh Ground in Wardha, on May 12.
When is the National Junior Kabaddi Championship 2025 Opening ceremony?
Maharashtra State Sports Minister Dattatray Bharne will open the event on May 9. Other leaders, including Sanjay Rathod and former Union Minister Raosaheb Danve, will also attend the ceremony. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will hand out the prizes.

Connection between Kabaddi and Wardha
KAVS President Ramdas Tadas said they pushed for the event to bring kabaddi pride back to Wardha. Over the years, the district produced skilled athletes for the national team. Secretary Pradipsingh Thakur said they are making efforts to make this event special for players, coaches, and fans.
