Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League Season 2 Player Auction: All You Need To Know

The Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) has announced that the Season 2 Player Auction will be held on November 3, 2025, in Noida.

Two New Franchises Join UPKL 2

Building on the momentum of its inaugural season, UPKL is expanding from eight to ten teams. The new entrants- Aligarh Tigers and Kanpur Warriors- will join returning teams such as Lucknow Lions, Noida Ninja, Kashi Kings, Avadh Ramdoot, and others, as the league deepens its talent reach across Uttar Pradesh.

UPKL 2: Budget Details

Each franchise will have a ₹12 lakh budget. They will get to form their squad from a player pool that has more than 500 athletes, up from 350 in Season 1.

Players are classified into four categories:

  • Category A: ₹1,00,000 base price
  • Category B: ₹60,000 base price
  • Category C: ₹40,000 base price
  • Category D: ₹25,000 base price

Teams are allowed to select a minimum of three players from Category A, four each from B and C, and three from D, in order to blend experiences and new talents.

UPKL 2 Kick-off Date

Season 2 kicks off on December 25, 2025, with 64 matches scheduled, all staged in Noida. The league also unveiled its new season tagline:
